Prof. Caleb Mireri.
Prof. Caleb Mireri is a registered and licensed Physical Planner and Lead Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Expert with over 30 years of professional experience in physical planning, environmental management, and policy advisory services.
He holds a Dr. phil. in Geography, Economics, and Sociology from the University of Düsseldorf, Germany, and advanced qualifications in planning and economics from the University of Nairobi. He is a Fellow Member of the Kenya Institute of Planners and a licensed practitioner under Kenya’s Physical Planners Registration Board and the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA).
Prof. Mireri has worked extensively across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, delivering assignments for government agencies, the private sector, international organisations, and NGOs. His areas of expertise include:
- Preparation of spatial and integrated development plans.
- Environmental and strategic environmental assessments.
- Land use planning and zoning.
- Policy preparation and analysis.
- Project evaluation and advisory for regulatory compliance.
He has been instrumental in preparing environmental management plans, strategic plans, and local-level action plans for urban and rural contexts. At LER Consult Limited, Prof. Mireri leads consultancy teams in delivering context-specific, regulation-compliant planning and environmental solutions across East Africa.
